Norfolk, VA's Strap-Ons formed in 1996 as the Pimps. idle, kate, and billy eventually found melissa and stacey which became the core lineup. The unit debuted their sleazy punk revivalism on wax with the 1999 7" My Dad Smokes Crack (Incubator), following it with the Wicca Chicka EP for Rapid Pulse. Around this point the Pimps ran into a snag. Corperate Rock called and said they had bought the name from the Trademark office and put it on some fakes. So, the Norfolk punks dropped the Pimps and became the Strap-Ons, just in time to release their debut full-length. Geeking Dream arrived from Long Beach in 2000; among its 25 tracks were cuts like "Wetty Beddy," "Park That Ass," and "My Dad Smokes Crack".
MTV took notice and features "My Dad Smokes Crack" on an episode of Made called "Surfing Salene". The Strap-Ons did two of the US tours with Joey Image of The Misfits on drums. Full albums include Geeking Dream, $4 Whore, Dirty People (Europe), Punk On Punk Crime, Covered Ass, and Covered Ass II, The band is currently working on a new album of original material and is planning a tour. idle currently plays bass for The Candy Snatchers. Some of the other groups on idle edsel records include idles earlier bands.
